Here is my top 10 men’s cologne for 2012. Many of the colognes listed on this page are some of the best selling and best smelling in the market. I also included some of my personal favorites into the mix. Feel free to leave your comments at the bottom of the page.

Cool Water by Davidoff

This fragrance in an old favorite of many people and it’s a fragrance that women like. This is a popular fragrance with teenagers and many have used it in adulthood too. This fragrance had its debt in 1998 and it has a captivating, aquatic aroma. Many have tried to follow the success of this fragrance.

Cool water features Geranium, Lavender, Coriander, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, and Cedar for an amazing scent.

Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani

Acqua di Giò Pour Homme by Giorgio Armani (1996) Creates masculinity and sensuality. This fragrance smells great and it’s fashionable and fresh each year. It remains #1 on US seller’s market.

The fragrance is flowery with Jasmine as the most noted one. There’s a hint of marine that hits you. Cedar and white musk scents round out the fragrance. The result is an aromatic fragrance that’s woody and aquatic which is an improvement over Issey Miyake’s “aquatic”.

The lightness makes the fragrance a “fragrance for summer” but it can be used round too.

Hot Water by Davidoff

It is a spicy, hip, and fresh scent was created in 2009. It’s known as a great inexpensive perfume in the world.

This perfume is perfect for a night on the town, with your lady, or when you’re on the prowl. It’s enjoyed by women while many men have a mixed reaction to it and some don’t like it at all.

It’s a simple fragrance and an oriental masterpiece. It resembles the 90s Joop perfume. The scent is also less demanding on your pocketbook. Basil, pimento, and patchouli are the notes that make up this scent. There’s also a very strong presence of paprika in it. This makes it smell nicer than similar fragrances such as Armani Code. Prices for the fragrance vary but you can get it for $45 for a 3.7 Oz bottle which is a real bargain.

Hugo Boss

This fragrance has a very green scent to it with notes of pine needles, green apple, cedar leaves, Spearmint, Jasmine, Lavender, clove buds, and Sage. The pine needles and sage are very prominent in the fragrance. Some say there are grassy herbal notes come from cedar and Spearmint.

Others smell the sage and pine needles more. The green apple is transparent and not overwhelming like in DKNY’s Be Delicious. The greenness of the fragrance might evoke some ideas of money and power. Read my view review on Hugo Boss

One Million by Paco Rabanne

Paco Rabanne has advertised One Million extensively. You’ll find this fragrance displayed everywhere. Since 2008 this golden fragrance has slowly made a name for itself as a staple fragrance for men. This makes a great scent for the clubs with notes of grapefruit and mint. Middle notes include rose, amber, white woods, and Patchouli. It’s a pleasing and long lasting fragrance.

This one is easily noticeable in any bar or club and mixes well when you seat on the dance floor or at a party. This one is popular with young men looking to attract a lady friend. The fragrance has been called a chick-magnet and it’s a mind blowing scent you won’t soon forget.

Obsession for men by Calvin Klein

One of the most sought after fragrances by men is Calvin Klein’s Obsession. It was popular in 1986 when it first hit the market and it still remains popular to this day.

This fragrance has a very pleasing scent and it’s an old classic. There’s a fruit and warm sensation when you put it on and it just makes you feel good. You’ll feel your negativity melt away when wearing it. You’ll feel refreshed and this will come out in your overall mood. This fragrance is geared towards adult men and it has sophistication to it. It will last you throughout your busy day. At around $55.00 you can buy it through online retailers such as Amazon.com.

Vintage Black by Kenneth Cole

This fragrance smells like dewy greens, pink grapefruit, white pepper, lavender, tequila, sandalwood, and oak. The smell is quite powerful and it’s often called enchanting by many people.

The first scent you get is based on citrus and then it has a husky aroma. You need to apply it lightly because it’s quite strong and it can be overpowering. It can be a bit sour at first but then you’ll feel the freshness and this is an excellent choice for young guys who want some style in their fragrance.

Ferrari Black

For a light smell try this fragrance. This is one of the best fragrances for men who like a cool refreshing scent. The smell is mossy, with wood, and fruit. This one is good to wear at work because it’s light and not offensive to people who don’t enjoy strong smells. You can get this fragrance as an aftershave too and it’s quite cheap on your pocketbook.

Versace

Versace Pour Homme was introduced in 2008 and it is very nice cologne for men. The fragrance has an aromatic scent that’s an award winner too. Versace creates great fragrances and many people love this one. You won’t spend much money on this cologne yet it has a sexy, clean and a uniqueness about it. You can wear it at any time of the year and you’ll get compliments from people. This is an awesome fragrance to buy.

Ungaro III

Ungaro III (1993) is a superb fragrance. Its main selling point is that it costs less than top notch fragrances yet has an amazing intoxicating scent.

There’s a bold masculine smell to it. It’s a sexy fragrance with a bit of a darkness to it. The fragrance lasts for hours so you’ll be all set to go through the night. It has a combination of tobacco, Vodka and ashen rose which make up its blend.

This cologne gets to the point as it’s a tough, rough, and sexy fragrance with some sandalwood notes too. The scent is innovative and brilliant. Women love this scent for their men and it’s a great gift for holidays while being inexpensive.
