Getting my kitty spay and neuter at Ontario SPCA

Well, I got my kitty back in June 2008 and about 6 months after having her around she got her first heat. I didn’t know cats go through heats and she started to meow during the night and day. The first night when it happened it was driving everyone in the house crazy.

I couldn’t even sleep and when I get a few hours of sleep she started to meow again. I had to go out and buy some ear plugs for everyone when they go to bed. The ear plugs kinda helped.

If I knew female cats go through what they called “heat” when they are mature at 8 months old. I probably would have second thought before getting her.

So about 3 months ago I was calling around my local pet veterinarians and asked them for a quote to get my cat spay/neuter. The cheapest price was $450 and the most expensive was at $550, even the cheapest price I can not afford.

Then I spent more time searching online and found this site for pet spay and neuter service. Luckily for me it is very affordable and it is also in Newmarket, which is about 20 minutes drive for me.

I will have my cat spray, get her first rabbi shot, and get her microchip. The total price for all that is at about $75 dollars. Check out their web site for the exact pricing here http://www.spayneuter.ontariospca.ca/

It is located here: 16586 Woodbine Ave. Newmarket, Ontario

Oh yea, they are very busy. It took them 3 months to call me back for an appointment. So you will have to go through a few more heats and be very patient.

I am getting her spray tomorrow I’ll post some pics and write about her recovery later.

They spay and neuter both cats and dogs.
