Here’s a quick tutorial of how to make your favourite icon or Favicon for your website.

I am using Photoshop cs2, but I think it should be okay with later versions. If not please post it here.

First, download the plugin you need for Photoshop. The plugin is here icoformat-18f3-win (for PC) Mac users go here

Extract the file and copy the ICOFormat.8bi file to your Photoshop plugin folder. The path would look something like this C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins

Now start up Photoshop. Make a new file at 16×16 pixels and make what ever graphics you want in that resolution.

Then “save as”, look for ICO (Windows Icon) (*.ICO;*.CUR) and save.

Upload your new .ico file to your server and on your html put this:
<link rel=“shortcut icon” href=“http://www.keyframe5.com/wp-content/themes/keyframe5/favicon.ico” />

Here is my favicon: KeyFrame5 Favicon.ico
