Just Energy new telemarketing strategies

It looks like my beloved company Just Energy is coming up with some new strategies to get new customers to sign up for their long-term fixed rate gas contract. Earlier today I got a call from Just Energy, this was the first call I ever heard by a gas company and this makes the second time in two months I was contact by Just Energy. When will they leave us alone?

When Just Energy telemarketer called my cell phone, he immediately said he was working for Just Energy and wanted to know if I’m the person who pay for my gas bill. Right after he finish talking, I hung up on him. :)

Just several weeks ago, there was a National Home Services agent who came into my house and that was their fourth attempts to get us sign their long-term hot water heater contract. If you don’t know, National Home Services is an affiliated company from Just Energy. Here is a post about National Home Services and their deceptive sale practices.

How to cancel and get out of gas and electricity contract

If you’re a home owner, especially if you’re a new home owner, watch out for these door-to-door 3rd party gas and electricity sales. They will dress up with their uniform, cap and clipboard. Knocking on your door unannounced, making sale pitch about their cheapest gas and electricity prices or their “Price Protection Plan”. With promise savings on gas and electricity, or telling you to sign up before the cost of gas and electricity are going up.

They are not there to save anyone money. No strangers knock on your door to save you money, they are doing it because they want your money.

First, if you or your parents are 55 years or older and sign their gas and electricity contract. You can cancel without paying any existing fee, these 3rd party gas and electricity providers will not tell you this. The cancellation period (10-30 days) varies from one company to another, if you want to get out you will need to act quick. If you are under 55 years old and pass the 10-30 days of signing the contract and want to get out without paying anything. Read the different options below.

Just Energy and National Home Services are hiring

Read about working at Just Energy here. See if this is the kind of job you’re looking for.

I just ran into this job posting over at craigslist.ca earlier today. It was posted on 2009-11-01, seem to me National Home Services and Just Energy are hurting in the public relations department and require someone with skills in “Marketing/PR”. They claim to be a “Multi Billion Dollar Industry Leader”, Billion? Ok, first lies, and yes it is true they are leader in scamming, defrauding and deceptions.

If Just Energy and National Home Services are a multi billion dollar company. Why the heck are they posting their job posting on craigslist.ca? A MULTI billion dollar company? Wouldn’t THEY be able to pay $800 dollars a month to list their job posts on a more reputably sites like Monster.ca or Workopolis.com? What a joke.
