Consumers complaints and reviews

“Having only been supplied by Spark Energy for a period of one month (July 2008), I am still awaiting a final bill and the refund of any overpayment. They have ignored all email correspondence and the last communication from them was after I posted a registered letter back in November.” IamFurious

“… Your company first called me to ask me to switch to your company form PGE as you can offer 20% discount fee on Gas. The truth is not only you did NOT offer 20% discount, but you wrongfully charge around 5 monthly fee to me. Your deceptive business conduct is you ask client to switch to your company and never told client there is a monthly customer service fee and never get client agree on that.” Jessica

Tips on avoiding Natural Gas and Electricity Scams

  1. Don’t sign up for any offer on the spot. You may be charged a hefty termination fee if you later want out.
  2. Don’t give out your utility account number to any sales representative at your door or over the phone.
  3. Don’t sign up for a new gas and electricity supplier until you compare the prices and terms of service with other companies, including your utility.
  4. If you’re not interested in switching your gas and electricity suppliers, ask your gas and electricity provider to put a block on your account, which will prohibit any unauthorized changes to your service.
  5. If you don’t want unregulated gas and electricity providers to bother you with a sales pitch, get on your utility’s do-not-market list.

  1. I and many of my family members have had Spark Energy for years and we are very happy with the service. The prices are low and the billing is easy, and the service is exceptional. I have recommended Spark to all of my Friends.

  2. After I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I recieve four emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is a means you are able to remove me from that service? Many thanks!
