Just Energy Cancellation

This douche bag from Just Energy came to my house today. First he wanted to see my gas bill to see if I was eligible for savings or whatever it’s called. I told him I’m not interested but he sounded like he was from Nicor, my gas company. He got a hold of my Nicor account number and I signed his paper because he said I could cancel in 30 days

Before he left, he used my phone to call someone from a company called Red Venture, where I would have to authorize the transaction over the phone.

However, after he left I told the guy on the phone that I did not want to go through with this and I wanted out, he said ok and he would not process it because I didn’t give authorization.

Is this the end of it then? Do I need to do anything else?

  1. What I would do is call your local gas and electricity providers asap. They are the ones that send you your bills each month and their contact info should be on those bills.

Tell your local gas and electricity providers to block you from switching to any other alternative providers without notifying you first.

If you somehow did switch over to Just Energy, remember you have 30 days after you received your first to get out without having to pay any fee.
