Why is Thailand Still Using Chinese Vaccine (Sinovac)?

Why is Thailand still using the Chinese-made Sinovac? Even though the Chinese vaccine could reduce severe symptoms, even reduce transmission and it saved many lives. But Thailand is currently dealing with the Delta variant, and a study published by the Lancet. One of the world’s oldest and best-known general medical journals stated that people who were inoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine had ten times the amount of antibodies compared to those who had received the Chinese-developed Sinovac.

Then a report on July 15th says Malaysia to stop using Sinovac after supply ends, sighting that they have a sufficient number of other jabs. They will primarily use Pfizer moving forward.

DDC defends Sinovac jab purchase.

Thailand DDC said the decision to procure additional doses of the Chinese vaccine was made due to its wide availability.

That raises another question, why haven’t I heard the Thai government buying a large supply of the other Chinse-made vaccine Sinopharm or maybe they did? The WHO also approved it for emergency use.

I know Thailand currently doesn’t have enough supply. I also Malaysia population is about half of Thailand and Malaysia a bit wealthier. I give that a pass, or maybe there is another reason I don’t know? There is one theory.

Before I get into that theory.

It’s not just me wondering why Thailand is still using Sinovac. But what I do know, I’m not a doctor.

The dean of one of the best medical universities in the country and another respiratory expert said to stop importing Sinovac.

Thai Health Experts Said Stop Importing Sinovac Vaccines

The government should stop importing Sinovac vaccines as they are not effective enough to fight the Delta variant of Covid. Pfizer vaccines are better. From now on, the government should avoid placing orders for Sinovac vaccines because they have efficacy problems. It should look at vaccines of high quality such as AZ [AstraZeneca] and J&J [Johnson & Johnson], mRNA vaccines and protein subunit vaccines such as Novavax.

The dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Siriraj Hospital calls for an end to Sinovac imports into the country.

This dean works at Siriraj Hospital, the oldest or the first medical school and largest hospital in Thailand. They are the primary teaching hospital of Mahidol University.

And if you don’t know Mahidol University, and this university is probably the best or second-best university in the country. This is not coming from some random doctor.

Another article, “Halt China virus shots“, says an expert. This is coming from the head of Vichaiyut Hospital’s intensive care unit.

Because I follow Thai news all the time, especially now, I found this theory, but I don’t know if it’s true or not.

The Theory – Why is Thailand still using the Chinese-made vaccine, Sinovac?

This article from Asia Nikkei alleges,

Hong Kong-listed Sino Biopharmaceutical, controlled by CP Pharmaceutical Group, is to put in $515 million, giving it a 15% stake in Sinovac Life Sciences, the unit in charge of CoronaVac production. CP Group, the parent of CP Pharma (that bought 15% stake), was one of the first foreign companies to invest in China and now has interests ranging from food to insurance. It was named after ethnic Chinese founder Charoen Pokphand.

If you’re wondering what’s the big deal and who CP Group is.

CP owner is the richest family in Thailand. They’re on the Forbes list of billionaires.

CP owns 711, Tesco Lotos, True – the telecommunicating provider and many others.

A banker says Sino Biopharmaceutical “belongs to” CP.

CP Group Denies Links with Sinovac Purchases

Stating that The CP Group has nothing to do with the purchases of the Covid vaccine made by Sinovac Biotech by the Thai government. The group denies reports that it holds 15% of shares in Sinovac Biotech, which suggests it might have been involved with the government’s decisions to buy at least 6 million shots to date.

The group warned that, after the clarification, if it finds distorted information damaging it or causing a misunderstanding, it will be forced to take legal action.

What Do I think?

Ok, so they are going to sue asia.nikkei.com?

What’s going on? Who’s telling the truth?

What I do know for sure is, someone is lying.

Anyway, what do you think? Who do you think is telling the truth?

But I think I found my answer.

  1. I think Thailand should completely open up. Use th extensive medical chest doctors have globably as an alternative to the expensive and freedom destroying innoculations. Get a life people, because while you are waiting for the next ten, twenty, thirty variants, life will have passed you by, and death continues to draw nigh. Everyone dies, better dying having lived a productive satisfying life, than hiding away, to afraid to show love and emotions, to afraid to breath someone elses air.
Get a life and move on. Already 2 tourist seasons have come and gone. Soon everyone will be broke, their businesses closed, because this is never going away, there will never be a cure.
